Moving Beyond Auto America questions America's dependence on the automobile and presents alternative transportation systems already in use around the globe. This fast-paced video features consumer advocate Ralph Nader and 17 of the nation's foremost transportation experts, who critically analyze our "love affair" with the auto and question how much longer we can rely so heavily on our sacred cars. A wide variety of alternatives are illustrated and discussed, including electric cars, magnetic trains, light rail systems, several highly futuristic approaches, and even some traditional low-tech alternatives. The video leaves the viewer with the positive impression that there are realistic alternatives to improve transportation and in turn improve the quality of our lives.
